Q: If someone’s discovering Modica for the very first time, what do you hope they take away from the experience?

Most people either haven’t used mixers before, or they’ve had a bad experience with the overly sweet, neon stuff in plastic jugs. We want them to realize that mixers can be something entirely different — clean, modern, and genuinely delicious. With Modica, they can make a perfectly balanced cocktail or mocktail at home without squeezing, muddling, or measuring.

Q: What’s one Modica value you refuse to compromise on, no matter what?

Mixology made simple. We believe people should be able to enjoy bar-level cocktails and mocktails that taste like they were made from scratch — without needing a mixology degree or 30 minutes of prep. Great drinks should be easy, not a project.

Q:You’ve created a brand that invites everyone to the table, whether they’re drinking with or without alcohol. What inspired that inclusive approach?

As a proudly queer-owned brand, inclusivity is built into our DNA — and that includes how people choose to drink. For many in the queer community (and beyond), alcohol can be complicated. We wanted to create a product that’s just as exciting whether it’s part of a cocktail or a zero-proof pour. Everyone deserves to feel included in the moment, regardless of what’s in their glass.

Q: Are there any emerging flavor trends catching your eye lately?

Coming from the industry, I've always been into drinking bitter, complex flavors–so it’s exciting to see that flavor profile go mainstream. The rise of nonalcoholic amaros, aperitifs, and bitters has been especially cool to watch. They are my go-to's when I'm not drinking Modica!
