Each month, Raising the Bar aims to create recipes inspired by the season. For our October box, the “Ghost Town”, we wanted to embody both the coziness of Autumn and the boldness and fun of the Halloween season. That’s why we’re thrilled to showcase the Jalisco 55 reposado-style zero-proof tequila from our friends at Spiritless as this month’s hero ingredient.
Reposado tequilas are traditionally aged for up to a year in oak barrels, giving them a beautifully complex depth of flavors and their iconic subtle gold coloring. Jalisco 55 captures that precisely. Hints of honey, spicy oak, vanilla, and delicate pepper mimic the warmth of traditional tequila, while zesty citrus, fresh sweet mint, and just a touch of cinnamon replicate the slight burn of alcohol.
