What is Raising The Bar?

Raising the Bar is a monthly subscription box for anyone who is interested in alcohol-free beverages, for whatever reason. Newly sober? Cutting back on pandemic vices? Pregnant? Taking a break? Whatever your reason for wanting to explore zero-proof cocktails, we are here to help you discover delicious and innovative alcohol-free options.

Why was Raising The Bar created?

Motivated by the emergence of new alcohol-free brands and the growing #sobercurious movement, Abbie and Devin created Raising the Bar to make zero-proof cocktails more accessible for anyone interested in them. Our team is excited to introduce you to the products that have helped us create a comprehensive alcohol-free home bar cart!

How does it work?

Each month we send you a box containing all the necessary ingredients to create delicious, seasonal, and alcohol-free cocktails right in the comfort of your own home! We share four recipe options, instructional videos demonstrating how to make the drinks, as well as suggestions for other beverage alternatives utilizing components from the box on our Box Recipes page. 

Occasionally, as stock levels allow, new members may receive a recent box from a previous month as their first shipment so they can get mixing their first batch of cocktails right away! For more information on shipping and processing, see our Shipping Policies.

How many drinks does each kit make?

Each box makes up to 12 drinks. After trying all drink recipes included in the boxb from our Box Recipes  page you’ll still have some ingredients left to explore and invent your own zero-proof creations!

What's in this month's box?

May’s Box, Wallflower, contains 1 – bottle Ceder’s Wild, 1 – bottle Royal Rose Clove Cardamom Syrup, 1 – bottle Datil Woodster bitters, 1 – can Avec Yuzu Lime soda, 1- can Ojoy sparkling blanc, 1 – Ojoy tumber, 1 – can pineapple juice, 1 – bag pineapple glass charms, and 1 – recipe card.

 

Where can I find the recipes for the boxes?

Each month we create several unique recipes using the ingredients provided in the box. To access all the recipes, simply scan the QR code on the recipe card enclosed in the box or visit our Box Recipes page.

Are all of the ingredients completely alcohol-free?

Although the majority of ingredients included in a Raising the Bar box are entirely devoid of alcohol, specific items such as bitters, kombucha, or dealcoholized beverages may contain minimal alcohol traces – 0.5% or less. Choosing to consume products that contain alcohol is a very personal choice. Notably, the items featured in our standard Raising the Bar subscription maintain an alcohol content equivalent to, or lower than, that found in ripe fruit, soy sauce, vinegar, yeast-leavened bread, yogurt with live cultures, mustard, Pepsi, and Coke.

Are your boxes gluten-free, vegan, and pregnancy-friendly?

The majority of ingredients found in a Raising the Bar box are both gluten-free and vegan. While we have previously featured items like honey or wheat-based beer, we always offer alternative suggestions for those who prefer not to use such ingredients.

When it comes to pregnancy and nursing considerations, we prioritize the use of ingredients that are safe for consumption during these periods. However, on occasion, we might include ingredients in that are typically recommended to be avoided during pregnancy when used in medicinal quantities. We strongly advise carefully reviewing all the ingredients in your box and consulting your healthcare provider before consuming any ingredients you’re unsure about.

What is the calorie content of the drinks?

The calorie count varies from cocktail to cocktail. Nutritional information for most of the ingredients included in the box can be found on the packaging. Don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you have any questions!

Do you send gift notes?

Absolutely! During checkout, please choose the ‘This is a gift’ option and enter your message in the ‘gift message’ field. We will include the gift note inside the box so your recipient will know it’s from you! You can also opt to send a digital gift card by either printing or emailing a digital gift note to your recipient. Alternatively, if you prefer a ready-to-download gift card, you can find one here.

I received a box, and I don't know who sent it!

If you did not receive a note from your gifter, please email info@weareraisingthebar.com and let us know – we can help you track it down!

I sent a gift to someone. How can I check the status of the delivery?

Once your gift box is on its way, you will receive an email containing tracking information. You can also check the status of your recipient’s delivery by logging into your customer portal on our website at any time. If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to email us at info@weareraisingthebar.com.

I am gifting a subscription to someone but do not wish the subscription to renew automatically. How do I do this?

All gift orders do not automatically renew unless specifically selected to do so. To ensure your subscription does not automatically renew, select “This is a gift” during checkout. You can then select the start date and duration of the subscription. It’s important to keep in mind that the start date you choose is when your order will be added to our shipping queue, not necessarily when your recipient will receive their first box. If you need the package to arrive by a specific date, please email info@weareraisingthebar.com to coordinate.

How will my gift recipient know that have a gift coming?

During checkout, please choose the ‘This is a gift’ option and enter your message in the ‘gift message’ field. We will include the gift note inside the box so your recipient will know it’s from you! I am interested in a group order for corporate gifting or an event. How does it work?

We love collaborating with corporate and group orders! We can provide complete customization options for recipes, barware, and additional services like hosted happy hours. During checkout for my gift subscription, it asked me when I would like the subscription to start. Would my recipient receive the box on that day?

During the checkout process select the start date and duration of the subscription. It’s important to keep in mind that the start date you choose is when your order will be added to our shipping queue, not necessarily when your recipient will receive their first box. If you need the package to arrive by a specific date, please email info@weareraisingthebar.com to coordinate.

Subscriptions will be shipped for delivery on or around the 15th of the month, with rolling shipping for orders placed after the 15th. How much is shipping?

A fixed shipping fee of $10.00 per subscription box is applied to all orders. However, the shipping and handling rate for our one-time boxes may differ, and the corresponding fees are indicated on each product page. You can find additional details regarding our shipping procedures in our Shipping Policy.

When will my box ship?

Monthly subscriptions are shipped for delivery on or around the 15th of each month. Orders placed after the 15th will be shipped on a rolling basis. One-time box shipping timelines are specified on each individual product page.

 

How will I know when my box is on its way?

We will send you an email with tracking information as soon as your box has shipped. Additionally, you can log in to the customer portal on our website anytime to check the status of your delivery. If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@weareraisingthebar.com.

Which box will I receive?

Your initial subscription box is detailed on our Subscription page. Ordinarily, it corresponds to the month in which you subscribed. If you have any questions about which box you will recieve please reach out to us at info@weareraisingthebar.com.

Do I have to commit to a monthly subscription?

We provide a range of subscription options, including a month-to-month plan that can be canceled before your next renewal date. Our subscriptions are set to renew automatically at the end of each cycle based on your selected plan. However, you have the flexibility to cancel your subscription before the renewal date. For multi-month subscriptions, you can cancel at any time, but you will still receive the remaining prepaid boxes, and your subscription will conclude after you have received all the boxes on your account. For instance, if you decide to cancel your 3-month subscription after the second month, you will still receive your third prepaid box. Once you receive the third and final box, you will not be charged again, and your subscription will end. If you prefer a one-time gift subscription that does not renew automatically, choose the “this is a gift” option at checkout, and your gift will expire at the end of the prepaid period.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscription renewals are processed the first week of the month and you can cancel any time before your next renewal date. As all subscriptions are pre-paid, cancelling your subscription will only affect future renewals. All boxes remaining on your account will be shipped. To manage your subscription, log onto your account here. Select “Subscriptions”, “Details” (this is where you can pause your subscription), “Billing Details”, and finally “Subscription Settings” in the bottom right hand corner. “Subscription Settings” is where you will be able to cancel your subscription. 

How do I make updates to my account?

To manage your account, please log in to your customer portal here. Once you’re logged in, you can update your account details, including your payment and billing information, as well as your shipping address.  You will also be able to make changes to your subscription such as pausing, skipping a month, or canceling future renewals. My box arrive damaged or with broken ingredients. Can I get a replacement?

We are sorry to hear that you received a damaged item! In the rare event an item is broken during transit, we are always happy to replace the damaged product. Please reach out to us right away at info@weareraisingthebar.com so we can help!

group & corporate events

What is the minimum number of boxes per group order?

We’re delighted to collaborate with groups of any size! We do not require a minimum number for boxes that are currently in our inventory and do not require customization. If you’re interested in customized boxes, we usually require a minimum order of 40 boxes. Please contact us, and we can discuss which option would be best suited for your event or occasion. 

Can each box be shipped to different addresses?

Yes! We can ship all of your boxes to one destination or we can send them individually to each recipient.

How much notice do we need to give?

For boxes that are currently in our inventory and do not require customization, we can typically ship the boxes within 2 – 3 days of the order being finalized. For custom boxes, we typically need at least one month lead time to pull together items for a unique recipe. However, we’re always up for a challenge. Do you provide cocktail equipment for our event?

Our boxes can feature an extensive range of bar tools, providing a cohesive mixology experience for your group. Some examples of the items we offer are jiggers, bar spoons, cocktail napkins, ice trays, branded coasters, glassware, and much more!

Is it possible to include additional collateral or swag inside the boxes?

Definitely! Let us know what you have in mind, and we will share some options.

Do you host in-person or virtual events?

We do! Our team has conducted virtual mixology demonstrations for groups as small as 3 and as large as 200. If you’re looking for in-person events in the greater Boston area, we would be delighted to chat with you about your requirements.

Can you create custom drink recipes for events?

That’s our specialty! Whether it’s developing unique flavor profiles and drink colors, or crafting a fun custom name, we’re dedicated to assisting you in curating the ideal experience for your group or event.

How long does it take to get my RTB merch?

When you order any Raising The Bar merch, we custom make one just for you! Each item is made to order and may take between 3-8 business days for the order to be processed. All RTB merch will be shipped separately from any other items on your order. RTB merch is shipped via USPS Parcel Select Ground. Please expect 2 – 8 days for delivery once your order has been processed. You will receive a shipping notification once your order is complete and ready for shipping. Additional processing time and possible shipping delays may be imposed during the busy holiday season.
