We had an amazing chat with Terrika and wanted to share some of it with you so you can get to know both her and her work a little better.

Q: What was the moment that inspired you to start Herb & Orchid?

The turning point was when I accepted my husband’s challenge to go 90 days alcohol-free after realizing how much I was relying on alcohol to cope with grief and stress. During those 90 days, I struggled to find a non-alcoholic beverage I enjoyed, especially on date nights. That gap inspired me to create Herb & Orchid.

Q: For those who may not know, can you walk us through the dealcoholization process you use and what makes it unique?

Herb & Orchid beverages aren’t simply juice replacements; they’re crafted to mirror the body and mouthfeel of traditional sparkling wine. We carefully remove alcohol while preserving flavor and aroma, through vacuum distillation. Then layer in fruit and floral notes for depth and sophistication.

Q: If Herb & Orchid could be described through music, what would it sound like?

It would sound like a soulful jazz track with global rhythms. Smooth, uplifting, and full of unexpected notes that make you pause and smile. Something that feels timeless yet fresh.

Q: What’s one small daily ritual that helps keep you grounded?

I start my mornings with prayer, reading my Bible along with devotionals, and journaling. It sets the tone for my day and reminds me of my “why.”

Q: As a founder, how do you make space to refill your own glass – literally or figuratively?

I carve out time for movement and family. A workout or walk clears my head, and sharing a meal with my kids grounds me in joy.

Q: When you’re developing a new flavor, what usually sparks the idea?

Always a memory. Food and drink have a way of transporting us, so I draw on my own experiences. Travels or cultural flavors I grew up with to bring authenticity to each blend.

Q: If someone’s new to Herb & Orchid, what would you want to share with them?

Herb & Orchid is more than a drink. Every sip is crafted to be flavorful, elevated, and inclusive. I never want people to feel like they're missing out when choosing not to drink.
