Alcohol-free Bitters with All the Bitter

For our April box, we wanted to curate ingredients with bold, floral notes that are perfect for spring. Immediately, we thought of our favorite ingredient to liven up any drink – All the Bitter’s 100% alcohol-free New Orleans Style bitters. With bright flavors of anise, tart cherry, hibiscus, and rosehips, this additive brings a subtle complexity to your cocktails.

But let’s back up for a second. What exactly are bitters?

Bitters first became trendy in the 1800s when they were used as a medical tincture. They were intended to improve digestion and liver health, but the combination of alcohol and botanicals not only worked as a 19th-century wellness shot – it also leant a rich, aromatic flavor to any drink it was added to. Since then, bitters have evolved into a cocktail staple, adding depth to classic drinks like the old-fashioned and the negroni while still retaining all of its original health benefits.

Although bitters traditionally contain alcohol, the rise of zero-proof cocktails has inspired new, alcohol-free takes on bitters, including the All the Bitters options created by sommelier couple Carly and Ian Blessing. All the Bitter is dedicated to making mixology more inclusive. Their products, which come in Orange, Aromatic, and New Orleans flavors have been perfected over hundreds of batches to offer a delicious new spin on a classic ingredient.

Why try alcohol-free bitters? Each bottle of All the Bitter contains 2-3 times more raw botanicals than traditional alcoholic bitters. That means there’s more health benefits and more flavor packed into every drop.
