Budget-Friendly Drinks for Your Guests

The holiday season is flying by, and with everything on your plate, we wanted to make it a little easier by offering some budget-friendly, non-alc drink ideas. If you’re not able to grab special zero-proof alternatives for your guests, don’t worry! You can still create delicious drinks with what you might already have in your fridge.

Here are a few simple mocktails to whip up with common ingredients:

Candy Cane Hot Chocolate

Perfect for those who can’t resist those peppermint chocolates during the holidays – we’ve made it into drink form!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk (or milk-alt)
  • 1 tbsp chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
  • 1 small candy cane (plus one for garnish, optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

How To: Heat the milk in a small saucepan until steaming, then add chocolate chips and a broken candy cane, stirring until melted and smooth. Pour into a mug, top with whipped cream if desired, and garnish with a candy cane for a festive touch.

Citrus Cola Fizz

A fun twist on your typical cola, with a refreshing citrus kick.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz cola (or diet cola)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz orange juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime and orange slices for garnish

How To: Fill a glass with ice cubes, then add the cola, fresh lime juice, and orange juice. Stir gently to combine. Garnish with lime and orange slices on the rim for a citrusy finish.

Spiced Fizz

A bubbly, spicy mocktail with the crispness of apple and a zing of ginger.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz ginger beer
  • 2 oz fresh apple juice (or apple cider)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp honey (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime and apple slices for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

How To: Fill a glass with ice cubes, then add apple juice (or cider) and lime juice. Pour in ginger beer and stir gently. If you want a touch of sweetness, add honey or agave syrup. Garnish with lime and apple slices, and fresh mint leaves if you have them.

These drinks are simple to make and work for any occasion.
